Bayern Munich are reportedly plotting a swoop for Barcelona number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
With the Blaugrana's financial problems set to worsen following their elimination from the Champions League, the club are supposedly open to selling Ter Stegen in 2022.
The Germany international has been linked with a shock move to Newcastle United, but El Nacional reports that Bayern are now hoping to win the race for Ter Stegen.
The Bavarian giants are thought to be planning for life after Ter Stegen's Germany rival Manuel Neuer, who turns 36 in March and sees his Bayern deal expire in 2023.
However, Bayern's opening bid of €30m (£25.6m) was reportedly knocked back by Barca, who are holding out for at least €40m (£34.1m) to sanction a sale.
Ter Stegen has kept just three clean sheets in 14 La Liga games for Barcelona this term and is not due to become a free agent until 2025.
