Barcelona are reportedly keen to offload Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa on a permanent deal this summer.
The 29-year-old has made an immediate impression at Villa Park since his loan move in January, registering three goals and three assists in seven Premier League appearances.
Villa possess a €40m (£33.6m) option-to-buy clause in Coutinho's loan deal, although manager Steven Gerrard has insisted that a decision on the Brazilian's future is yet to be made.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are determined to get Coutinho off the books this summer, and Gerrard would "love" to sign his ex-Liverpool teammate permanently.
Romano adds that the powers-that-be at Villa will not make a final decision until the end of the season, but they have been impressed with Coutinho's performances so far.
Coutinho has struggled to make a consistent impact at Barcelona since his £142m arrival, registering 25 goals and 14 assists in 106 matches across all competitions.
