Highly-rated Brazilian youngster Marquinhos will be staying at Roma this season, according to his agent.

Brazilian youngster Marquinhos is likely to stay at Roma this season, according to his agent.

The 19-year-old impressed during his debut season in Rome and attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona.

"The player has a contract for four seasons with Roma and he will surely stay," Roberto Calenda told Sky Sport Italia.

"There are no negotiations ongoing. It's normal that there are lots of teams interested in him because we're talking about a very talented guy. But Roma have not allowed us to talk to anyone."

Marquinhos made 22 appearances for Roma last season.
