Report: Barcelona plan Camp Nou renovations

Barcelona reportedly want to renovate the Camp Nou at a cost of €250-€400m rather than build a new stadium.

Barcelona have decided to renovate the Camp Nou rather than build a new stadium, according to reports.

The board of directors recently commissioned a study to analyse the options for the future of the club's home.

8TV has claimed that the club would prefer to develop the existing facility at a cost of €250-€400m (£210-£335m), rather than build a new stadium, which could cost an estimated €800m (£670m).

The renovations would not increase the capacity of the Camp Nou, which already seats almost 100,000 fans, but would include the installation of a retractable roof, hotel, shops and offices.

If approved by the board, the plans will be voted on by the club's members next month.
