Cesc Fabregas suffers sprained knee

Barcelona confirm that Cesc Fabregas will be out of action for a week with a sprained knee.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas suffered a sprained knee in his side's 4-1 win over Real Betis.

The playmaker, who scored a double in the La Liga clash on Sunday night, was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad this morning due to the issue.

His club have now confirmed that the sprained ligament in his right knee will keep him on the sidelines for the next week.

Barcelona have also been hit with the news that Lionel Messi will be out of action for between six to eight weeks with a hamstring tear.
