Vicente del Bosque: 'Aleix Vidal must play to be picked'

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque admits that Aleix Vidal's situation at new club Barcelona could harm his chances of making the next international squad.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has admitted that he will find it difficult to select Aleix Vidal in his squad while the new Barcelona signing is not taking part in competitive matches.

Vidal officially completed his move to Barca on Sunday, but the former Sevilla attacker will not be able to make his debut until early 2016, with the Catalan outfit banned from registering new players until next January.

Vidal is currently with the Spain squad ahead of their upcoming games against Costa Rica and Belarus, but his position in Del Bosque's thoughts could be harmed later in the year.

"It will be hard to call him up if there's no activity," Del Bosque told Onda Cero.

Spain face Costa Rica in a friendly on June 11.
