Barcelona 'to trigger Lautaro Martinez release clause'

Barcelona reportedly intend to trigger the £101m release clause in the contract of Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona reportedly plan to meet the release clause of Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez during the summer transfer window.

For a number of months, Barca have been linked with an approach for the Argentine as they look for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

A previous report has claimed that the Catalan giants have already agreed a contract with the 22-year-old, who has scored 16 times this campaign.

According to Tuttosport, the La Liga outfit are willing to meet Martinez's release clause, said to be set in the region of £101m.

While Barcelona are prepared to pay that fee, it is suggested that the Spanish team may be willing to offer players in part-exchange to reduce the price.

Arturo Vidal has previously been linked with a move in the opposite direction.
