Report: Diego Costa rules himself out of second leg

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa reportedly rules himself out of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona next week.

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa has reportedly ruled himself out of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona next week.

The Spanish international started the first leg last night, which ended in a 1-1 draw, but was forced to leave the field in the first period after aggravating a hamstring injury.

The powerful striker underwent tests this afternoon and, according to AS, told reporters in Madrid that he would not be fit for the second leg at the Vicente Calderon.

As a result, Costa, who has scored 33 times in all competitions this season, will also miss Saturday's La Liga clash with Villarreal in the Spanish capital.
