Filipe Luis praises Diego Costa

Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis lavishes praise on Diego Costa.

Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has praised Diego Costa following Saturday's 1-0 win over Espanyol.

The Spanish international's 30th goal of the season secured all the points for Atletico, who are now just three points off La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

"Every time we seem to get stuck, Diego proves to be decisive," he told Marca.

"He always manages to create chances from nothing. I hope he can continue to do the same as if he does he's in for a fantastic career.

"La Liga is still a competition for just two clubs, although we are trying to do something really great. If we hadn't won against Espanyol, we'd be six points off."

Atletico travel to Barcelona on the final weekend of the season.
