Aston Villa are reportedly hopeful of agreeing terms with Bournemouth for defender Tyrone Mings in the next week.
The 26-year-old made a huge impact during his half-season spell on loan with the Villans in 2018-19 as he helped the club to Premier League promotion via the playoffs.
Villa's form improved drastically in the final few months of the season, culminating in their victory over Derby County at Wembley earlier this week, and Mings was widely credited for shoring up their leaky defence.
According to The Mirror, Dean Smith wants to add the ex-Ipswich Town ace to his squad permanently ahead of his side's return to the top tier.
Bournemouth are said to be after £15m and Mings is keen to get a transfer sorted at the earliest possible opportunity, meaning that a move could go through in the coming days.
