Remi Garde 'not complaining' about lack of transfers

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde insists that he is not frustrated by the club's lack of action in the transfer window.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has insisted that he is not feeling frustrated by the club's lack of transfer activity this month.

The Premier League's basement side have yet to make a signing four weeks into the window, despite Garde being promised "significant funds" in his struggle for a miracle survival in the top flight.

"I'm not the kind of person to complain to put the pressure away from me or to put the responsibility away from me," Garde told reporters on Friday when asked about transfer activity. "I'm not this kind of person. I will never be this person. I try to explain with my experience to the board and the club in which way we could improve the team.

"But I'm not the guy to decide how much money we should spend in this football club now – I can only recommend what would be nice.

"Financially speaking I'm not the guy who can say okay in the next three four years we need to do that financially. I have not got these skills. I've got the skills to say okay if we can do that now it would be good for the team. But then after that I respect the decision."

The Villans are believed to be close to the loan capture of Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.
