Joe Bennett completes his move from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa on a four-year deal.

Joe Bennett has completed his move from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa on a four-year deal, the Premier League club has confirmed.

The 22-year-old defender, who has signed for an undisclosed fee, becomes manager Paul Lambert's sixth signing of the summer.

"I am really excited to have joined a massive club in Aston Villa and I'm eager to fight for a starting place and get in the team," Bennett told Villa's official website.

"It's up to the manager to pick the team, of course, but it would be great to go back to the North-East this weekend and make my debut against Newcastle at St James' Park."

Bennett has three caps for the England Under-21 team following his debut in February 2011.
