Stiliyan Petrov confident Aston Villa will survive relegation

Stiliyan Petrov is confident that Aston Villa will survive relegation from the Premier League, with 10 games left to play.

Stiliyan Petrov believes that the Aston Villa players have the right mentality to save themselves from relegation this season.

Tim Sherwood's side currently reside three points above the bottom trio in the Premier League table with 10 games left to play.

"They know what they are fighting for," Petrov told the club's official website. "The club have good players to get out of this situation. I am sure they will.

"Sometimes you have blips and you have to deal with it. I am looking forward to the next 10 games. I wouldn't say we are battling for our lives. There's still a long way to go. We are battling to win games."

Villa are also in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, having secured a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
