Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is supposedly in contention for the manager's job at Aston Villa.
The West Midlands outfit relieved Dean Smith of his duties on Sunday after defeat to Southampton left them 15th in the Premier League table after 11 matches.
Paulo Fonseca has been strongly linked with the vacancy at Villa Park, while current Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is also thought to be a contender.
Now, The Mirror claims that Gerrard is also under consideration, although the 41-year-old recently rubbished talk of him leaving the Scottish champions.
Gerrard was linked with the Newcastle United job before the Magpies moved for Eddie Howe, and his deal with the Ibrox outfit is not due to expire until the summer of 2024.
The ex-Liverpool man has won 124 of his 192 games in charge of Rangers, including Sunday's 4-2 success over Ross County.
