Randy Lerner accepts £150m offer for Aston Villa?

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to complete the £150m sale of the club to a UK-based group, according to reports.

American billionaire Randy Lerner is poised to complete the sale of Aston Villa to a UK-based group for £150m, according to reports.

The Villa owner has been trying to sell club since last May, and recently dropped his asking price to £150m.

Talks with the unnamed UK group have now reached a conclusion, and the club will shake hands at the end of the season, reports the Sunday People.

Lerner bought the Midlands outfit from Doug Ellis for £63.6m 10 years ago, and has invested around £300m in player recruitment since.

However, after coming close to Champions League qualification under former manager Martin O'Neill, Villa have moved backwards in recent seasons, and currently find themselves in a Premier League relegation battle.
