Paul Lambert vows to lift Aston Villa players

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert vows to lift his players following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has vowed to pick his players up following Saturday's defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The Villans suffered a 2-1 loss at home as they were beaten for a third time in four matches.

"The key is whenever you lose a game, make sure you bounce back," Lambert told the club's official website. "That's what we've got to do.

"We will get them in, pick them up and go again. You're only four games into it so there's a long, long way to go."

Villa return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Lambert's former club Norwich City.
