Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that his side need "five or six wins" to secure their Premier League survival.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that "five or six wins" could be enough for his side to survive in the Premier League.

Villa are currently two points away from safety but with 13 matches remaining of the season, Lambert believes that he knows how many wins will be enough to see them move clear of the relegation zone.

Lambert told Sky Sports News: "I know how many games we need to win and that's the thing we have to go and do.

"If we keep doing the things we are doing, we will win more than we don't.

"I would say we need to win five or six games. It depends because you don't know what other teams are going to do, but I don't concern myself with other teams."
