Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert insists that he will continues to value youth over experience should the right players become available.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that he will not "deviate" from the long-term development of his side.

Over half of Lambert's seven signings in the summer were aged 23 or below and the former Norwich City boss believes that it is beneficial to build for the future.

Lambert said: "It's my way. I'll not deviate from my way.

"You speak to other managers and take advice from them. It would always be my decision. Yes, I love to win but the project is long term."

Aston Villa are currently in 17th place in the Premier League table.
