Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has vowed to repay manager Paul Lambert for the faith that he has shown in him this season.
The young Belgian centre-forward has started four of the club's last five Premier League matches ahead of England frontman Darren Bent.
Reflecting on his run in the starting lineup, Benteke admits that it is pleasing to have a coach that has trust in his ability.
"On a personal level, Paul Lambert is the perfect manager for me. He has taken me from Genk and given me a lot of confidence so I enjoy working for him," said 21-year-old Benteke.
"I want to give him the same back on the pitch. The manager has told me he thinks I can improve as a player and I want to show him that.
"When you are a young player and you know your coach wants you, for your club and for your national team, then it makes it much easier to play and enjoy your football."
Benteke has scored one goal so far this season.
