Claudio Ranieri: 'Title is Paris Saint-Germain's to lose'

Claudio Ranieri believes that his Monaco side cannot win the title unless Paris Saint-Germain slip up many times until the end of the season.

AS Monaco head coach Claudio Ranieri has insisted that the title race is out of his side's hands, and that they will only have a chance to win it if Paris Saint-Germain hit a poor run of form.

Ranieri's team lost 2-0 to Saint-Etienne on Saturday, which has left them five points behind PSG having played a game more, and the Italian admits that even if they had won, they would still need the capital side to slip up.

"We have not lost the title because we have lost this evening," Insidefutbol.com quotes Ranieri as saying.

"To win the title we have to play at 130% and win every game. This is not possible. PSG can only lose the title."

Ranieri took over Monaco in 2012 and guided them to the Ligue 2 title last season.
