Mesut Ozil wants England, Turkey qualification

Arsenal and Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil shows his support for England and Turkey on Twitter.

Germany international Mesut Ozil has expressed his support for both England and Turkey ahead of this evening's final World Cup qualifiers.

The Arsenal midfielder's nation have already qualified for the tournament in Brazil, but the fates of England and Turkey are still uncertain.

The Three Lions will win their group if they defeat Poland at Wembley, while Turkey can seal a spot in the playoffs if they overcome group winners Netherlands at home.

"Crossing my fingers for my english and turkish friends tonight. hopefully you guys will make it. #brazil2014 #worldcupqualifiers," he wrote on the social networking site Twitter.

Ozil's connection with Turkey is linked back to his ancestors, who lived in the northern part of the country.
