Arsene Wenger admits that Cesc Fabregas could one day return to Arsenal, due to his love for the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that Cesc Fabregas could one day return to the club, although not in the near future.

Fabregas left Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer of 2011, having joined the club from the Catalans as a 16-year-old.

Wenger did admit, however, that the return wouldn't be likely in the next two or three years.

"I'm not convinced that he won't come back here one day," Sky Sports News quotes Wenger as saying.

"He is really an Arsenal man. He loves Arsenal and watches every game of Arsenal.

"Of course Barcelona was his home town where he grew up and you have to accept that will come into it, especially with them having the best team in the world. [He will not come back] in the next two, three years, certainly not, because he is linked with Barcelona. Maybe later."

Arsenal face Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday.
