Arsene Wenger: 'Fiorentina have bid for Marouane Chamakh'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that Serie A club Fiorentina have made an official bid for out-of-favour striker Marouane Chamakh.

Chamakh has been linked with the Viola in recent days, but Wenger has now said that the club have received a formal offer for the player.

"Fiorentina requested information on his availability and made an offer," Sky Sports News quotes Wenger as saying.

Chamakh scored just one goal last season for Arsenal.
