Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to rival Arsenal for the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey.
The 21-year-old missed the start of the 2021-22 campaign with a hamstring injury but has been regularly involved for the Seagulls since the middle of October.
The defender has made a strong impression for Graham Potter's side since arriving from Chelsea in January 2020, and Arsenal are allegedly keen to sign him during the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, there is also genuine interest from Tottenham, with the North London club prepared to battle their bitter rivals for the right-back's signature.
The report claims that Brighton value Lamptey in the region go £50m, and a Spurs move for the Englishman could lead to Matt Doherty returning to Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan.
Tottenham's impressive run of league form under Antonio Conte has pulled them back into top-four contention, with the club currently sitting sixth in the table, just two points behind fourth-placed Arsenal with two games in hand.
