Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner hints that he will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has hinted that he will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Lichtsteiner joined the Gunners on a free transfer last summer and has made 23 appearances in all competitions for his English club during the 2018-19 campaign.

Unai Emery's side have the option of extending the 35-year-old's contract for another 12 months, but the Swiss has suggested that a summer exit is likely.

"I see it being quite difficult to stay but we are going to see what happens," Lichtsteiner told the London Evening Standard. "I don't know anything. The only important thing is the Europa League final now."

Lichtsteiner has started 19 games for Arsenal this season but only played in two of the club's last 11 Premier League matches of the 2018-19 campaign.

During his time with Juventus, the defender won seven Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia crowns.
