Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The 23-year-old has been regarded as a key player at the French outfit for a number of years, resulting in big-money bids for his signature being rejected last summer.
However, two seasons without Champions League football have contributed to Lyon now being in a position where they need to offload arguably their most prized asset.
At a time when they are struggling to attract bids which meet their asking price, Get French Football News claims that Lyon are now prepared to loan out Aouar for the remainder of the campaign.
While the report adds that any proposal must come with an obligation to buy, their new stance will inevitably attract interest from the player's previous suitors.
Aouar has two years left on his contract and there is little prospect of fresh terms being agreed in the future.
