German defender Shkodran Mustafi hints that he would be open to a move away from Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has suggested that he would be open to a move away from the Emirates Stadium during this summer's transfer window.

The Germany international has largely struggled to show his best form for the Gunners since arriving from Spanish giants Valencia in the summer of 2016.

The 28-year-old's existing deal with Mikel Arteta's side is due to expire next June, and the defender has admitted that he would be interested in a move to the Bundesliga.

"It is difficult to foresee how the transfer phase will run in the current situation," Mustafi told Bild. "[The Bundesliga is] always interesting. Sportingly, it has undergone a great development. Besides, it's my home.

"Many are amazed at the level there. In England, they were very surprised at how well the Bundesliga managed to restart. The Premier League has certainly taken this as an example."

Mustafi, who started his youth career with German side Hamburger SV, has only made eight Premier League appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
