Southampton 'offer Morgan Schneiderlin new deal'

Southampton try to keep Morgan Schneiderlin out of the clutches of Arsenal by reportedly offering a new £60,000-a-week deal.

Southampton are reportedly willing to offer Morgan Schneiderlin a new contract, to keep the midfielder out of Arsenal's grasp.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the French international and they were even rumoured to have agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old ahead of a summer transfer.

However, The Mirror claims that the Saints are willing to break the bank to keep Schneiderlin at St Mary's beyond the end of the season.

It is thought that the Hampshire outfit are ready to offer Schneiderlin a £60,000-a-week deal to stop Arsenal luring the player away from the club.

Should Southampton fail to agree a deal, the Saints are believed to be putting a £25m price tag on the midfielder to test Arsene Wenger's resolve in the transfer market.
