Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna has said that he is confident striker Robin van Persie will remain at the club this summer.
The Dutchman is thought to be in high demand after a season where he scored 30 league goals for the Gunners, with big-spending Manchester City one of the clubs linked with the forward.
However, Frenchman Sagna is hopeful the 28-year-old will still be in a red and white shirt next season. He told The Mirror: "I'm confident Robin will stay. He was a complete professional from the beginning until the end [of the season] and helped us into third.
"We want to keep him. Everyone is so grateful to him for what he's done for the club and how important he is. He is our captain and takes his role and responsibilities very seriously. He gives everything as a player and captain."
Sagna, 29, has also spoken of his desire for the Gunners to capture fellow Frenchman Yann M'Vila.
