Napoli are interested in signing Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal in the summer, according to a report.
The Mirror claims that the Italian club's coach Rafael Benitez is keen on recruiting the 28-year-old defender to enhance his side's chances of winning Serie A next season.
The Belgium international's current contract with the Gunners runs out in June 2015, and he has yet to be given a new deal.
Vermaelen has reportedly grown unsettled at the Emirates Stadium due to lack of playing time this season, although Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on keeping hold of the centre-back.
Vermaelen joined Arsenal from Ajax in 2009.
