Arsenal are ready to compete with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Lyon centre-back Joachim Andersen, according to a report.
The Denmark international has spent the season on loan in the Premier League with Fulham, whose relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Monday.
Despite the Cottagers' drop into the second tier, Andersen has impressed at the back and is rumoured to be high on Tottenham's list of transfer targets for the summer window.
However, The Telegraph claims that Spurs may first have to see off competition from bitter rivals Arsenal for the 24-year-old's signature.
Mikel Arteta is said to have targeted Andersen as a long-term replacement for David Luiz, who recently turned 34 and is due to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Lyon are unlikely to sell Andersen on the cheap, however, as the Danish defender - the club's record signing in July 2019 - still has three years to run on his contract.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been linked with fellow Fulham player Andre-Frank Anguissa in a possible £20m transfer.
