Real Madrid consider approaching Marco Asensio to discuss a new contract at Bernabeu, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering entering into negotiations with Marco Asensio's agent over a new contract for the Spanish attacker.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move away from Los Blancos last summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool both thought to be interested, but he ultimately remained at Bernabeu.

Asensio has been a regular for Carlo Ancelotti's side this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions, contributing eight goals and one assist in the process.

According to Marca, at the start of the season, Real Madrid were against offering the Spain international an extension to his current deal, which expires in June 2023.

However, the report claims that the capital giants could now approach Asensio's agent, Horacio Giogli, to discuss a long-term agreement at the club.

The versatile attacker has scored 45 goals and registered 23 assists in 218 appearances for Los Blancos since joining the club from Mallorca in 2014.
