Arsenal defender Jernade Meade will be released by the club on July 1 as the Gunners choose not to extend his contract.

Arsenal will release Jernade Meade when his contract expires in the summer, along with nine other players.

The 20-year-old made two first-team appearances for the Gunners last season in their Capital One Cup win over Reading and their Champions League defeat to Olympiacos.

Among the nine other players to be released are Conor Henderson, who made one first-team appearance for Arsene Wenger's side in the 2010-11 season against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup and Sanchez Watt, who played four games in the League Cup.

James Shea, Reice Charles-Cook, Sead Hajrovic, Philip Roberts, Nigel Neita, Samir Bihmoutine and Josh Rees will also be released on July 1.
