Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding is to be offered a new long-term deal by the club, according to a report.
The 25-year-old was close to leaving Arsenal for Newcastle United last summer, but he has since proved his importance to the side by featuring 17 times in all competitions.
Holding is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, but The Athletic claims that the Gunners are keen to tie him down beyond then.
The report suggests that Mikel Arteta has been impressed with the Englishman's leadership qualities at the back and sees him being an important first-team player going forward.
Holding joined Arsenal from Bolton Wanderers in 2016 and has made just short of 100 appearances for the North London outfit in all competitions.
