Everton are reportedly preparing a swoop for second-choice Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.
The one-time Brazil international played second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the majority of the 2020-21 campaign, although he kept three clean sheets in seven La Liga appearances during his teammate's spells on the sidelines.
However, Neto is understood to be pushing for a move away from the club following his underwhelming stint in Catalonia, and Arsenal have reportedly taken a liking to the 31-year-old.
Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Everton are also keeping tabs on Neto's situation at Camp Nou, but Barca will still demand a modest figure as his signing is yet to be amortized.
Barca originally paid £23.4m to prise Neto away from Valencia in the summer of 2019, and while the Blaugrana will not be able to sell him on for that amount, they are supposedly still keen to recoup a sizeable portion of that sum.
The South American's existing deal at Barcelona is due to expire in 2023, and he has made a paltry 17 appearances for the club over the past two seasons, keeping seven clean sheets.
