Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe announces his desire to stay in North London "forever" following his breakthrough in the Gunners team.

Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe has announced his desire to remain at the Emirates "forever".

The Hale End academy product established himself as a key player under Mikel Arteta last season and bagged a goal and assist in the North London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season.

Smith Rowe extended his Arsenal stay until 2026 this summer, and the 21-year-old can see himself remaining in North London for the duration of his career.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Smith Rowe said: "If Arsenal want me for the rest of my career, then I am going to stay here forever. It is always difficult [to stay at one club for your career], but for me personally I'd love to be here forever.

"For me it was easy [to sign a new contract with Arsenal]. Obviously it didn't look like that from the outside, it looked quite difficult.

"For me, playing for Arsenal, growing up an Arsenal fan and my family around me, it was easy. Growing up in London, I didn't want to move out of London. It was probably one of the easiest decisions I've made."

Smith Rowe boasts a total of nine goals and eight assists from 54 appearances in an Arsenal shirt since making his debut in September 2018.
