Arsenal are to make a £18m bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak in January as a replacement for Mikel Arteta, according to reports.

Arsenal are planning to make a £18m bid for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The 24-year-old, who joined the La Liga club for £5.5m in the summer from French outfit Reims, has allegedly been on the Gunners' radar for a number of weeks.

According to the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger wants to sign Krychowiak as a long-term replacement for the ageing Mikel Arteta.

Krychowiak has been capped 22 times for Poland.
