Arsenal win the race to sign Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly won the race to sign Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli.

The 17-year-old, who has previously had trials with Barcelona and Manchester United, has been linked with a host of Europe's biggest clubs over the last few weeks.

Currently with Brazilian outfit Ituano, Martinelli has scored 10 times in 31 appearances over the last two seasons.

The Gunners are believed to have submitted a £5m offer for the forward, and according to Yahoo in Brazil, there is now an agreement in place for the South American to move to the Emirates Stadium.

The same report, however, claims that the Premier League club are currently waiting for Martinelli to obtain an Italian passport, which would eliminate the need to secure a work permit.

Martinelli's current deal with Ituano will run until October 2022.
