Arsenal have reportedly entered negotiations with Rob Holding over a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The 25-year-old has struggled with injuries for a large chunk of his Gunners career but has been a key player for Mikel Arteta's side this season with 14 appearances in all competitions.
Holding is currently contracted to the struggling North London outfit until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, and the centre-back was supposedly close to leaving on loan for Newcastle United in the summer.
Now, Football Insider claims that Arsenal want to tie Holding down to a new long-term deal soon, with Arteta rating the 25-year-old highly despite a difficult start to the campaign.
Holding has been named in the starting lineup in 10 of Arsenal's 12 Premier League games this term, and while he is still waiting for his first goal, the centre-back came incredibly close to winning the game for the Gunners in their 1-1 draw with Southampton last week.
The former Bolton Wanderers man has turned out 93 times in all competitions for the Gunners and has two FA Cup triumphs to his name in red and white.
