Arsenal have reportedly decided against pursuing a move for Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.
The Gunners, who picked up early targets Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla in the summer, have been linked with a transfer deadline-day switch for the 29-year-old.
Despite reports of a potential loan move, it is believed that an approach for the Ghana international has not been pursued by the North London club, according to The Mirror.
The Gunners have relinquished big-name players Robin van Persie and Alex Song this summer.
