Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement with star midfielder Mesut Ozil over a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium, according to a report.
The 28-year-old, who has less than two years left to run on his current contract, is said to have been locked in talks with the Gunners since the end of last season.
Arsenal general secretary David Miles hinted earlier this week that an agreement was close to being made, with the North London outfit's reluctance to break their wage structure understood to be the big sticking point.
It is claimed by the Daily Mail that Arsenal have now agreed to offer Ozil a five-year contract worth £200,000 a week, while fellow midfielder Francis Coquelin will be offered fresh terms early in the New Year.
Alexis Sanchez is thought to be holding out for wages of £400,000 a week, however, which may force Arsenal into cashing in on their top-scoring player next summer.
