Arsenal will meet with Real Madrid this summer to discuss the possibility of keeping Martin Odegaard at the club on a permanent basis, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Odegaard joined the Gunners on loan from Madrid in January and has been in impressive form for the Premier League club, scoring twice in 10 appearances.
As it stands, the Norway international is due to return to the Bernabeu this summer, but Mikel Arteta's side allegedly want to sign the playmaker on a long-term deal ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
"Real Madrid and Arsenal will meet [in the summer]. I can say that Arsenal have the intention of keeping Martin Odegaard, they are so happy with the player, with the guy, with the professional - there are great feelings around Odegaard," football.london quotes Romano as saying.
The 22-year-old has only made 11 first-team appearances for Madrid and was allowed to leave in January after struggling for regular action in the first half of the season.
Odegaard's current deal with Los Blancos is due to run until June 2023.
