The agent of Arsenal forward Lucas Perez confirms that former club Deportivo La Coruna have made an offer of more than £8m for his client.

The agent of Arsenal forward Lucas Perez has confirmed that the club have received an offer from Deportivo La Coruna for his client.

Perez joined the Gunners from Deportivo last summer in a deal thought to be worth around £17m, but he made just two Premier League starts for the club and has made no secret of his desire to leave.

The 28-year-old claimed to have been "cheated" by the club after they gave new signing Alexandre Lacazette his number nine shirt without informing him, and his agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has now revealed that Deportivo have made a bid in excess of £8.1m.

"I'm here to see the Emirates Cup and to be with Lucas. We have talked to everyone. Arsenal know we want to go, that there are no opportunities here, and within a year there is a World Cup," Lovelle told PA.

"Would you not be angry and sad and upset if you had your squad number taken without being asked? Deportivo made an offer a week ago. It is a permanent deal and worth more than Nolito's move to Sevilla.

"Of course [he was told he would play more]. Lucas signed for Arsenal and was the happiest person in the world and with all of his dreams to fulfil. We have seen that every time he played he did well, but after every time he got fewer and fewer opportunities."

Perez scored seven goals in his 21 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.
