Arsenal crush West Ham United

Arsenal romp to a 5-1 victory over West Ham in their rearranged Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have come from behind to crush West Ham United 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Four goals in 10 second-half minutes were enough to see the Gunners record their first league win in three matches.

It was the visitors who struck first with 20 minutes on the clock as Jack Collison fired in from the edge of the box.

Arsenal struggled to clear a West Ham corner before the waiting Collison powered the ball in.

However, the hosts got themselves level three minutes later when Lukas Podolski lashed the ball past Jussi Jaaskelainen from 18 yards.

With the scores all square at the end of the first half, Arsenal took lead two minutes after the restart through Olivier Giroud.

The striker got in front of his marker to poke home Theo Walcott's corner and net his 10th goal of the season.

The home side were soon flying and they extended their advantage minutes later as Santi Cazorla flicked the ball past Jaaskelainen following some typically-slick approach play.

The goalrush continued in the 54th minute thanks to Walcott's simple finish following a counter-attack before Giroud converted again to make it four goals in eight second-half minutes.

A bad night for West Ham was made worse in the final 10 minutes as Daniel Potts was stretchered off with what appeared to be a serious neck injury.
