Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane breaks Thierry Henry's record for most goals in Premier League London derbies, and also becomes the first player to score 100 away goals.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has broken Thierry Henry's record for the most goals scored in Premier League London derbies courtesy of his penalty against Arsenal this afternoon.

The England captain calmly chipped home a penalty shortly past the half-hour mark at the Emirates Stadium, cancelling out Thomas Partey's opener to level the scores for Antonio Conte's men.

Kane's strike was his 44th against fellow London clubs during his Premier League career, moving out on his own at the top of the list ahead of Arsenal legend Henry.

The Spurs forward already boasted the record for most North London derby goals scored, extending that to 14 this afternoon, which is also more than any other player has netted against the Gunners in the Premier League era.

Half of those goals have come from the spot, and his seven penalties scored against Arsenal is also a joint-record for the most scored by one player against a specific opponent.

On top of that, the goal saw Kane become the first player to net 100 times away from home in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old now sits six clear of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney in that particular list, with all-time Premier League top scorer Alan Shearer in third.

Despite Kane's record-breaking achievements, Arsenal took control of the contest in the second half with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka seeing Mikel Arteta's league leaders secure the North London bragging rights.

Tottenham's misery was further compounded with a red card for Emerson Royal shortly past the hour mark, their fifth in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium to set an unwanted club record for most sending-offs at a specific ground in the competition.
