Jack Wilshere pays Steven Gerrard tribute

Arsenal and England's Jack Wilshere praises the influence of Steven Gerrard following his retirement from international football.

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has paid tribute to Steven Gerrard following the Liverpool player's retirement from international football.

The 34-year-old confirmed on Monday that he would not be playing for the Three Lions again after making 114 appearances for his country.

Wilshere has repeatedly said that Gerrard inspired him when he was younger, and the 22-year-old has again credited the veteran with having a positive influence on his career.

Gerrard scored 14 goals during his 114 appearances for England.
