Jack Wilshere: 'You're seeing the best of me now'

Jack Wilshere says that he is getting back to his best in an Arsenal shirt after repeated injuries stunted his progress in recent years.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is confident that he can continue to silence his critics providing that he remains injury free.

The 22-year-old's performance at Stamford Bridge on Sunday was one of the few positives for Arsenal on a day when the Gunners lost 2-0 to Chelsea.

Injuries have curtailed the youngster's development in recent campaigns after bursting on to the scene as an 18-year-old, but Wilshere, a target of criticism this season, says that he is now getting back to his best.

"I feel good and I'm always looking to improve, no matter what," he told the club's official website.

"For a player of my age, I've missed a lot of football so I'm just trying to play as much as I can, train as much as I can and I've always said that when I get fully fit you'll see the best of me.

"I said at the start of the season that it was going to take some time to get back to my best. Ever since my first injury, it's always taken a run of games - probably between five and 10 - to get back to my best."

The England international has made 13 appearances for club and country so far this season.
