Arsene Wenger: 'Seven teams in Premier League race'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that seven teams can win the Premier League title this year.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that as many as over half a dozen teams can win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners currently sit two points clear at the top of the table after a 2-1 win at Swansea City on a day that saw rivals Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all drop points.

Following positive starts to the campaign from Liverpool and Everton, Wenger feels that the title race is wide open.

"We have the desire to be champions, you can see that," Wenger told reporters. "It's still the early stages of the season, we have only played six games, but I would have signed up to have 15 points now after losing the first game.

"Let's just try and keep going. We have a chance but it is very open. You can add Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton to the top four, it will be very interesting.

"What has changed compared to years before is that at 80% you will not beat any team in the Premier League. You have to be at least between 95 and 100% and that promises a very interesting season."

Arsenal are eight points clear of champions Manchester United after six matches.
