Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has disagreed with Per Mertesacker's view that the team need to "train harder".
The German defender recently claimed that he and his teammates need to put a bigger shift in on the training field in order to improve in games.
Arsenal's last Premier League match resulted in a 2-2 draw with Hull City, while they just scraped through a 2-1 victory over Anderlecht in the Champions League on Wednesday.
"I don't know what he meant by that, but you have to be careful with statements after the game," Wenger told reporters. "I think we train very hard, the attitude is right and the spirit is there.
"Until now we have been relatively consistent in our attitude but not efficient enough offensively or defensively."
Tomorrow, Arsenal will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
