Arsenal's Arsene Wenger: 'I have faith in Nicklas Bendtner'

Arsene Wenger insists that Nicklas Bendtner has the "quality" to play an important role for Arsenal this season.

Arsene Wenger has backed Nicklas Bendtner to play his role in Arsenal's 2013-14 campaign.

The Danish striker opened the scoring for the Gunners in the second minute during their 2-0 home win against Hull City in the Premier League on Wednesday.

"Of course, that all depends on his commitment and his fitness and he has worked hard recently," BBC Sport quotes the manager as saying when asked if the 25-year-old has a role in his team this season.

"When he is physically sharp, he can compete with anybody. He had a good performance, has the quality. I believe in his quality and when he has that commitment and attitude his quality shows."

Arsenal are currently four points clear at the top of the league table.
